Biographies, documentaries, and newspaper articles will all tell you that John Lennon died on Dec 8, 1980. But we all know that isn't true. How can it be? Even 24 years after his supposed death, we continue to listen to his music. His music still matters. It is still respected. You will not find his CDs in the bargain bin with a "Nice Price" sticker on them. They are full-price, which means they are still in demand. He may have used his songs as a catharsis for his own pain, but they also magically work for all of us. So, no, John Lennon is not dead. He is very much alive. And he always will be as long as we remember.
